this past sunday mark's cousin, ciree came for a quick visit from Minnesota. she was here less than 24 hours but it was great getting to meet her and scratch the surface on getting to know her. she was really cool and i hope that we are able to become closer if she decides to move out our direction.

with a neigh neigh here .....

on monday our friend casie picked up the girls and headed out to the barn for a little riding. the girls LOVE to go out there and hang out with their favorite adult and ride the beautiful horses. i went out a little early to pick them up so i could take some pictures of them and some of the amazing and cool stuff out there.

i know it's been awhile since you've seen some really cute kids, so i thought i would indulge you. {wow, am i being a little pushy today :)} anyhoo, just a couple random shots of my three favorite girlies!

so, very rarely are mark and i dressed {hey, get your mind out of the gutter} and presentable for picture taking but the other night we went out to dinner with some friends of ours and i thought, hey... we look half way decent, so i did what any good person would do- hey jordan, come and take a picture of dad and i. and much to my surprise they turned out decent. i must say i think we look pretty cute!

riding in the juniper dunes

on saturday we went 4 wheeler riding in the dunes about an hour from our house. we had a great time. josie was the only kid at home {jess was at a friends and jordan was marching in a parade in spokane washington} so we went with just one. josie did a great job riding even though she got stuck several times. she is just too little and her bike is under powered for such thick sand. oh well, the big kids {these would be adults} had great time and she {joey} enjoyed riding around the truck the best.

spring is sprung

just a couple of random shots from around the yard. my apple blossom tree is in full bloom and the bees are loving it! a lilac from the neighbors yard and a sea of yellow {not too sure what it is called, it was given to me by my awesome neighbor julie!

a couple more projects

this past weekend mark and i accomplished a couple more home improvement projects. mark built this beautiful door for the back porch. the sun sets right on our deck making it impossible to eat dinner or be outside during this time. we bought and installed a heavy duty darkening screen in the door. it's our plan to built a frame behind the grill {to the left of the door} so we can have shade there too. if i haven't mentioned lately that my honey rocks, let me say it now- he ROCKS! he made a metal frame and then formed the wood around it. i of course am in charge of painting and adding all those special "county" touches! as for the short fence, it is the beginnings of a 4 foot fence to keep those !#*! dogs out of the garden. we were able to get this much done on sunday and will be setting the poles for the other side tonight. i'll keep ya updated!

it's me {who else were you expecting?}

so today was one of those days that i looked in the mirror and thought "i look pretty good today" so i thought i would have jess take a couple of pictures of me. why is it that when i look at myself in the mirror i don't think i look that bad and then i have my picture taken and i think "who in the world is this person in the picture?" have i mentioned that as awesome as it is that i have now lost 50 pounds, i think i look worse than ever? every single wrinkle, line, freckle and all that loose skin is always the first thing i notice. when you are fat, heavy, hefty, thick, plump, round, obese, not thin and everything else in between your skin is nice and shall we say "full", now that i don't have all that extra in my face i have something else.... a really old looking face. maybe it's just 36 looking back at me. who knows, but please know that i AM thankful and very proud of myself for losing weight and kinda looking better but sometimes i also tend to beat myself up a little more. i think that maybe, just maybe i'm searching for something i'm not going to find in my face anymore~ youth. let's face it, i'm not a 20 year old anymore, which is probably a good thing!

nothing better than.....

a back massage, a banana and your "boyfriend"! maybe this is too dirty of a post? na, i'm just kidding. on tuesday mornings casey comes over before preschool and hangs out till it's time to head to school. well, i had bought mark a back massager and the kids were sitting on it watching television while josie was eating her banana. they look cute sitting there together, hanging out enjoying each other's company. let's just hope they don't replay this scenario when they get a little older! {that my friend will be the subject of a whole nother post!} hahaha
