one windy ride

mark and his uncle decided that the trip to watch jordan in the dalles would make for an awesome motorcycle ride. so they planned to ride and i would follow in the car. wouldn't you know it that this morning the wind is blowing like crazy! they decided that they would still ride to the parade and about ten minutes into the trip figured it wasn't such a good idea. but oh well, we were already on our way, so they just turned on the heated seats and grips and rode it out!!! i too was cold so i had my seats on high, i know, how pathetic! we made it there in one piece and the proceeded to freeze while watching the parade. {the local people in the dalles informed us that it was 80 there yesterday} the ride home wasn't as bad as it was later in the day and the wind had died down some.

cherry festival parade

today we went to the dalles to watch jordan and the sandstone marching band participate in the parade. it was pretty awesome and i even got a little teary watching all these young kids march with such pride for their school.
they really did an awesome job and look and sounded great. the band played "all star" by smashmouth and the color guard marched and did their dance. jordan looked too cute in her jersey and cool shades...

growth

so by now i am sure you are sick of seeing pictures of my yard and garden, but hey guess what? this is my blog and i'll post what i want, okay? just kidding.... i just wanted to share that i actually have growth happening all around. we have the beginnings of carrots, snap peas and my orchard is alive.... every single tree has buds and leaves on them. i am so proud of myself for keeping it all alive. i must admit i do go out and talk to the trees {usually on a daily basis} and check on my strawberries, raspberries, peas and beans everyday too. oh well, i'm sure most think i am nuts {probably am} but i am enjoying every second of it. *just as a side note... after i published this i looked at the long, long un mowed grass and shutter at the thought that my yard looks like the serengeti!!! good thing the lawn lady comes tomorrow :)

one of the most beautiful places on earth

this yard of splendor belongs to my awesome neighbors the Puzey's. is it not the most magnificent, beautiful, quaint, relaxing, natural and everything else in between sight? this time every year is one of my favorite as i know julie's yard will be a crash causer. the best part is she has no fence so everyone can see all of her hard work and enjoy it just as much as they do. last year kim, her husband built this "river" in the back of the yard. talk about relaxing.... you can hear it flow all the way at my house {which is 4 house and a cul de sac away}. if you are ever feeling stressed, all you have to do is take a walk down the flagstone path and all of your trouble are gone. so thanks julie and kim for having such a beautiful yard for all of us to enjoy!

daddy's girl

i just couldn't resist posting this picture of mark and josie. it seems as though lately she has really become a daddy's girl and mark is loving it. as for me, i can't believe that in less than a month my "baby" will be 4. where does the time go? it makes me sad to see her grow up so fast. with the other girls i couldn't wait for them to grow, but i don't want my joey to get big just yet. yes, sometimes i'm glad she is getting older, but she is already so mature and so very independent that it breaks my heart. she is 3 going on 10 and definitely does not want to be treated like a baby by her sisters! oh well, i can't stop time or go back either, so i just enjoy them while i can and soak up every second with them.

cozy nights and the landing strip

this sunday we finally finished up the fire pit. mark and i ran the natural gas lines to it and our bbq. we also lowered it about 10 inches. it really looks nice and feels good too. i'm really looking forward to spending some nights out on the deck. also, i added some additional "accent" lights to my back fence area. you know a girls gotta highlight her old antique crap! a friend of ours said it looks like a airport and should the pasco airport ever be full they could land here! haha i LOVE it and that's all that really matters, right?

"bird watching" by minka the cat

this is one of minka's favorite things to do... sit below the bird feeder and wait for some action. you can usually find her here on most nice days and i think that she thinks that if she "hides" under the wagon they won't see her.
