question of the day~
do you ever just feel this way?
do you ever want to stick your tongue out at someone?
if so, don't ya just wish you could?
i do....
it's okay to admit it {every now and then}
happy rainy thursday from our neck of the woods.

these {4} words sum it up
so as mentioned in previous post i HATE these disgusting things.
i see no purpose for them {tree huggers, i'm not in the mood}.
well, they have gone from slimming my front porch to....
slimming my front door!
i about died when i saw this thing on the door.
josie is so afraid of them, she won't go out the front door if there is one within a mile of our house
{can't say i blame her though}.
so a note to all you nasty slugs,
move on, go away, find another house and different people to torture!
enough said...
almost famous {sorta}
i give you my first picture in print-
and you see where it hangs...
since i got my new nikon i haven't printed really anything off of it-
so this past weekend i decided i would give it a go- and you know what?
my chin hit the floor- it was actually pretty darn good {if i must say so myself}!
so, now i've feeling inspired to take and print more pictures
i can hear mark complaining now! ha
happy tuesday? not really~
just a quick hello from the trixie boston....
it's too cold an ugly out today for much else.
i have a cleaning job i don't want to do today.
finding it hard to get motivated.
need to.
don't want to.
must go take jord to school and get in the shower,
so i can go clean dirt, dust and grossness for the next {4} hours.....
ugh!

plain jane {or shara}
something about this picture-
it's so simple and pure,
it makes me happy.
something about how things look and smell after a mid-day rain.
something about being able to capture raindrops on leaves,
something about loving my life,
something about these words:
simple
pure
calm
make me happy.
what makes you feel this way?

pumpkin patch 2009
in search of the perfect one
found it!
on friday i went with josie and her preschool class to the pumpkin patch.
it was cold, overcast and kinda ugly out, but that didn't stop 17 {4} year olds from finding the perfect one...
there were tons of parents too...
we all picked out our pumpkins, ate a snack and then loaded up just in time before the rain came.
i was also supposed to go to the very same patch later that afternoon with jess' class, but due to the downpour of rain {with no end in sight} it was rescheduled for next week....
so our pumpkin hunting will have to wait for another day {thursday actually}!

shirley temple?
today was picture day at josie's school and she {i mean i} went all out on her hair.. she looked so cute.
when we came home from school today i told her i wanted to take some pictures of her,
she was more than happy {she loves the camera, love it} to let me do just that.
she is really starting to look like a young lady and not a little girl anymore...
watch out world. . . . . .

so happy....
if you have the slightest love for pumpkin pie and love yogurt you are so in luck....
i happened upon this yesterday while getting our weekly supply of light {you know healthy yogurt} and had to give her a whirl.
i had reservation about it because it is 170 calories which is alot for me in the morning, but i threw caution to the wind and decided to give it a go...
and i am SO glad i did.
it doesn't even taste like yogurt, it taste like PUMPKIN PIE!!!
{this is the fat girl in me typing this}
so, if you live near a safeway and really like pumpkin pie {and lets be honest who doesn't},
go on out and get yourself one {or two, maybe three- i won't tell}
you'll be glad you did...
must go, i can no longer sit here and type while my beloved pumpkin pie yogurt is sitting here calling out to be eaten!
happy tuesday to you!

recent projects
this weekend we decided to add some sconce lighting to our bedroom after my bedside lamp decided to die. i think they turned out awesome and i love how open it is.
as far as the home,his/her's office-desk space... well that came after mark enrolled in school. our old desk was junk and in desperate need of a date with the dump. so made it's wish come true and took it for a little drive and wha la- {2} new ones found a new home. it works out great. mark has his space {which i might add NO ONE touches} and then i have my space- wait a second- that's not right... i have to share my space with a 12, 8 and 4 year old! maybe one day.........
nah, it's not too bad {sharing}.
so there you have it, you've been to my house and in my bedroom, now it's time for you to go. {i was just pretending i was on mtv cribs} boy do i need to get a life.....
favorite....
so this past friday i "played" photographer and took some pictures for some friends of mine. what do you need to know about how much this stressed me out? not the people, but me taking pictures of people other than my girls? or a leaf that doesn't care? or a rock that really could care less? ugh....
i am so not a pro and i am pretty self doubting when it come to taking pictures for important things {you know like family pictures}.
somehow i made it though it and think my next time will be even better.
i love this picture and couldn't resist posting it.
the owner of this picture hasn't even seen it yet {sorry}
something about their feet in old school converse and the little sparkly ones in the middle just remind me of childhood innocence.

something to warm the soul & stomach
this is a borrowed recipe from my friend beth {which she got from her sister jill}. it is so yummy and warms you all the way to your toes {especially on these cool/cold fall days we've been having}. so i hope you can make it and enjoy it with your family... {on a side note- for our family this really isn't alot, so you could double it so you can have some leftovers too}
white bean chicken chili~
1 lb chicken diced/chopped into bite sized bites {i use 4 boneless skinless chicken breast}
1 medium onion chopped
1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 3 cloves fresh garlic depending on taste {i just put one heaping teaspoon full of minced garlic}
1 tablespoon oil
heat pan, add oil and then add chicken, onion and garlic.
cook until chicken is done.
add:
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cans white beans {drained and rinsed}
2-4oz cans diced green chilies
1 can chicken broth
bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low {ish} and cook uncovered for 20 minutes... stir occasionally
with heat on low, add:
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup whipping cream
combine in with chili and let warm thru
this is yummy with grated cheese, crushed tortilla chips, avocados and an extra dollop of sour cream {in case you didn't get enough in it :)}
it is so good, i'm hungry for it now {gosh, why is food so darn good?}
i tend to make cornbread with this as well. let me explain something to you about me and cornbread- it is like dessert to me..... hold on a moment while i think about it.......
okay, i'm back. i use the jiffy brand- i make the "johnny bread" and add 1 tablespoon sugar to it {letting it sit an extra minute in the bowl to allow it to "rise". {how to do you think i got so fat? eating health?} hahaha
i hope this post finds you and yours happy and healthy, no go out there and enjoy the day!

so now you know
this is my helpful tip for the day...
cereal in a throw away cup with a throw away spoon.
so wasteful i know,
but sometimes in life
you just gotta do it....
be lazy and wasteful!
day 3- blast from the past
today's attire wasn't as bad as yesterdays. today was blast from the past. you could pick 50's, 70's or even 80's {boy were those good years}. good thing she didn't pick the 80's, as i can't quite recall how to get my bangs straight and high off my head with a curling iron and some serious amounts of aqua net!
